From local children to United States Presidents the Catskills have long been known for great fishing opportunities for all types of anglers. From Trout Fishing the local streams with Dry-Flies, to dunking bread in a local pond for Sunnies, there is a place to fish for everyone. At Lake Jeff Cottage we offer the best of all worlds. Right in your own back yard is a small, 44 acre, private, non-motor boat lake that offers some of the best fishing in the area. "Lake Jeff" holds healthy populations of Largemouth Bass, Perch, Crappies, Pickerel, Catfish and Sunfish. With Callicoon Creek feeding her, Lake Jeff also gets some holdover Brown Trout. Several of our friends and family have caught trophy size Bass ( over 5 lbs ) from our boat or dock.
If you are looking for more the just the backyard lake experience the Catskills are the place to be.
WINTER ACTIVITIES
Lake Jeff cottage is simply beautiful especially when covered with pristine white snow. Our guests enjoy sledding, cross-country skiing and when the weather is just right you can ice skate on the lake as well.
During winter break bring the children to the mountains and where they'll learn how to ski and snowboard nearby. We have two ski slopes for beginner and intermediate skiiers. Both facilities offer skiing, snowboarding and tubing.
That said, you don't have to leave the property to enjoy snow-filled winter activities at Lake Jeff cottage.
If you love golf then by all means take a day and visit one of the golf courses in the nearby area. There are 18 holes and 9 holes available within a short drive of Lake Jeff cottage. Golf to your heart’s content.
